the whole thing seems a little surreal
Saturday morning (around 4 am) a drunk driver ran a red light going 80. If I hadn't been in the new car, and hadn't seen him a split second before he hit me (long enough to slam on my brakes), I probably would've died.
I have head and neck injuries and bruises, but nothing too serious. I'm in a brace for at least two weeks. Other than that, not a scratch on me.
You can read the newspaper blurb here.
Unfortunately, the really expensive camera in the car didn't start recording automatically (which it is supposed to do in an accident). I hit record, but it either didn't go back 30 seconds (which it is supposed to do) or I waited too long, so all it got was the cracked windshield and the car stopping. (And probably me, in shock, on the radio.)

JEEEZUS CHRIST!
You are damn lucky he didn't hit you a second later in the door. Hopefully you were wearing your seat belt unlike most cops. So what happened to the driver?
Holy hell!!! Although, I expected it to look a lot worse considering the speed.
I hope that guy sits in jail a long time. Fucker. He has got to be feeling pretty stupid right now... getting drunk, then driving, THEN HITTING AN OFFICER! What a loser.
That idiot. It's just... rrghh is all I can say.
I'm just really glad to hear that you're alright.
Wow. Thank god you're ok!
